Diving
Red Sea and Socotra are Yemeni diving hotspots. There are five main diving locations in Socotra: Dihamri Marine Protected Area with more than 80 kinds of corals and 150 fish species, Rosh Marine Protected Area with a reef drop off about 1 km from the coast, Adho with deep dives, and the eastern tip of the island called Ras Irsil and western Shouab coast both with shipwrecks.
Trekking
Socotra is has beutful part of treeking , and many tourists are choosing Socotra as an excellent destination for trekking and hiking, There are some well-known trekking trails on the island of Socotra and some needs to use camels to carry your camping equipment . Bird watching
The birdlife of the island is incredibly diverse, out of 320 bird species recorded on Socotra, 7 species are endemic to the island, (Socotra rock Banting), (Emberiza socotran), Socotra Cisticola (Cisticola haesitata), Socotra Sparrow or “SOCOTRA GRACKLE” (Onychognathus frater), Socotra Starling, Socotra Sunbird (Nectarinia balfouri), & Socotra Warbler (Incana).
And about 11 are endemic sub-species for instance, Socotra Buzzard (Buteo buteo ssp). As well as more than 45 species of birds breeding on the island such as Forbes-Watson’s Swift, Somali Starling, Egyptian Vulture (Neophron percnopterus), Palm Doves (Streptopelia senegalensis), etc.
Fishing
Fishing in Socotra is a new activity which caught an attention of many fishermen tourists. It’s possible to get a big fish around 60 kilo. You might be lucky enough to catch something even bigger.
Botanical life
Socotra island is a very rich place in plants life. With a total of 835 plant species, 308 arr endemic. According to the many botanical surveys that have been conducted on the island, Socotra is home to nearly 1000 different plant species, of which about a third are found nowhere else on earth. New ones are regularly discovered, and other still remain to be described.
